Direct thermal labels do NOT use a ribbon to print. Direct thermal printing uses chemically treated heat-sensitive media that blackens when it passes under the thermal printhead. Direct thermal printers have no ink, toner, or ribbon. Direct thermal media is more sensitive to light, heat and abrasion, which reduces the life of the printed material. Premium direct thermal labels are a topcoated medium sensitivity product with an all-temp/freezer grade acrylic permanent adhesive.  Premium direct thermal labels provide excellent image quality and because they are topcoated they are able to withstand most normal environmental conditions.  Please contact us for a free sample today.
